In September 2023, the CEM received a letter of approval from the National Agency for the implementation of the “Escape from Aging to Hope” project by the association. The project’s activities and the report were evaluated very positively by the National Agency.
Starting from August 1, the Center for Intercultural Education began the implementation of another project, which was co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program in the “adult education” sector. The project is titled “Foreign Language Proficiency Expands Horizons.”
According to the Erasmus+ program’s guidelines for staff mobility, “participation in courses and training”, the project involves management staff and active members of the CEM. In this sector, 163 applications were submitted, of which 102 were accepted. The CEM application, prepared by Bożena Kocyk and Małgorzata Piluch, ranked 7th in terms of quality with a score of 89 out of 100 possible points.
The main goal of the project is to enhance the participants’ English language communication skills and digital competencies. This will expand the association’s activities, enrich its website, and strengthen its international cooperation capabilities. The key phase of the project is educational mobility, which involves participating in an English language course abroad.
The overseas trip was preceded by preparatory activities, primarily involving the project participants taking English language classes. Those qualified for the project had to have at least a basic knowledge of the English language. The language course took place at a professional school, the Institute of English Language Studies (IELS), in the city of Sliema, Malta.
Based on the results of online written tests sent by IELS and a qualifying interview conducted through ZOOM, participants were assigned to international groups with the appropriate language proficiency level.
After a two-week intensive English language course, participants will proceed to implement the further objectives of the project.
